I sure have a long ways to go to learn everything I need to learn about this camera. I kiddingly call it a toy but this baby is by no means a toy. Even though in the camera world it is spoken of as a beginning or entry level camera, it has a lot to offer and will take me a while to utilize it's full potential.
I took my baby into work today (as if I had time to spend with it ). I don't think I hardly left my desk all day, never had lunch or anything. But I did have a few moments as I was leaving and lo and behold, Crystal and Adeline were there. Crystal was busy on the phone but Adeline was in perfect model position. This was a photo moment. So I simply put the camera in portrait mode. I managed to get a few shots but it is hard to see her smile with the pacifier blocking. LOL. I also managed to get a shot or two of our amazing Elaine.
When I get home, the sun was shining and the dogs needed a walk so this was my first real opportunity to play with the Aperture priority setting on my camera. I was attempting to see the difference in the settings and maybe even get a blurry background or foreground. On a few photos I managed to succeed and on a few others, they just look like photos.
My favorite part about this though is that I am keep track of my progress. I will be able to go back one day and see how much I have learned and how far I have come.

I am embarking on a new hobby with my husband. An interest I had as a child has recently been reignited. This blog is an outline of my journey as I learn the skill of photography and maintaining a journal through photo and video medium.
