As I stated in my earlier blog, I was anxious to set up some lessons with the photo place in Fenton, Bill Meier photography. Unfortunately they are not doing and classes until Feb. There is just no way I can wait that long. I have searched in vain for any local community education classes on digital photography and have come up empty handed. Now, I am the first one to tell you how much I love doing things on line. There are a myriad of classes, YouTube videos and information to work with in the online world. I just really want hands on to get started though. I did find one photographer who I believe is in the downtown Flint area. I have sent an email and left a voice mail. I am interested to see what comes of this.
In the mean time, I have downloaded a few on line ebooklets and have been looking them over. One was kind of intriguing and has some assignments to get yourself started. One of those assignments was to just go around your house taking the same picture or pictures of various household items.
I chose a couple of options to work with. I took a number of photos with my 35 mm expansion tube connected to my 18mm-55m lens. This simulates a macro lens and does a fairly decent job.
The next set of photos I practiced with were simply the 18mm-55mm lens with different perspectives of the same item. I am working on seeing angles and light and not getting into a habit of everything at my own eyes view.
I also took a few photos this morning from the patio door with the tripod and the 55mm-300mm zoom lens.
I will post one of each below and then a number on my photo album page.
I am embarking on a new hobby with my husband. An interest I had as a child has recently been reignited. This blog is an outline of my journey as I learn the skill of photography and maintaining a journal through photo and video medium.
